Children make numbers with their hands.

Poke is a poiesis app for early numeracy — learning through making. The webcam is not a sensor; it is a manipulative. Five fingers and two fingers become a ten-frame, an expression, a number bond — reflected back to the child on screen, never sent off the device.

Works without a webcam.

75 + 2
Five fingers on one hand, two on the other. The screen reports the making back as a ten-frame. Left hand in apricot, right hand in sage.

No frames are uploaded. Not now, not ever.

Hand tracking runs inside the browser, on the same device the child is sitting in front of. There is no account, no upload, no telemetry on the camera path. The adult sets up the session and watches the same screen the child does — the camera stream stops at the glass.
